Swim lesson registration for 2010 will begin in May through our online registration system.
Sweetwater Pools is pleased to offer you a comprehensive aquatics program. We love to have fun in the water and want you to, also! Learning to swim is important for the whole family. That is why we offer lessons for everyone from ages 6 months through 99 years! We offer group lessons, semi private lessons, and private lessons. We are also pleased to be able to offer a strong adaptive aquatics program for those with special needs.
Swim Lessons Programs
We offer American Red Cross swimming lessons, which ensures we have a high-quality program which provides the proper safety and learning environment for our participants.
Our lessons are taught over a two-week period during the summer, based on the facility schedule. We swim three days a week for two weeks, and have varying class times, based on the age and endurance of our swimmers. The littlest swimmers have classes 30 minutes long, while our older students swim for 45 minutes each day.
Our staff are all certified Water Safety Instructors, in addition to being lifeguards. Because we only let our staff do one job at a time, the swim instructors will be focused on teaching lessons, while the lifeguards keep everyone else within the facility safe.
In order to become a WSI for Sweetwater Pools, the instructors must be at least 16 years of age, successfully complete the American Red Cross WSI course, pass a background check, successfully complete their Lifeguard course - includes lifeguarding, first aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogen Prevention. In addition to these certification requirements, we interview our staff to determine that they truly have a love of swimming, and a desire to pass that on to their students.

In addition to swim lessons, though, we are also pleased to be able to offer Water Exercise classes for adults, community first aid and CPR classes, and assistance with scouting programs.
